Irmhild Preisinger, Christchurch

I would like to nominate Irmhild Preisinger as Au Pair of the month. Now I know that she has already won this award in the past but I think that is a mark of just how wonderful she is!! From the day she stepped through our door, my life has become so much easier. She is a breath of fresh air. Irmi keeps up with my ever changing schedule and has so quickly become a  part of our family. She looks after our 2 girls, 4 and 23 months, from the start I had every confidence the children were in safe and capable hands. She is always calm and very patient with them, and keeps them busy with exciting activities that follow their interests. I come home from my work or study to a happy household with the aroma of baking or fresh bread, folded washing, and a clean kitchen....she is just magic!! She also has a great ability to take loads of initiative and I often have to elbow her out so that I can do my share of the jobs! Irmhild really shone recently when my husband and I had a holiday in the UK and my children went to their grandparents. The volcanic eruption stopped us getting back to NZ when we had hoped. Irmhild was happy to go and stay with my parents and help out at their place for the extra week we were stranded!!! This was such relief for my husband and I and also for the grandparents who were beginning to feel the strain of two busy pre -schoolers!

Irmhild has 2 months left with our family, and I can’t imagine finding another person who would be as magical and amazing as she is!!!
