Imagine waking up in a warm bed, sometimes greeted by children standing at the door waiting for your waking
hour to come, only so that the three of youcan explore the world of homemade pirate ships, chocolate chip cookie baking, and lion hats with sword fights... Then imagine getting paid for it.

I think the last time I felt this carefree was when I was a child myself. I love the fun found in every day as I work as an au pair. And don't get me wrong... it is hard work, but the laughter, the cuddles, and curious questions about the life the children have yet to discover make up for the worst tantrum had any day...

Where laying in camping tents in the center of the dining room becomes a frequent occurrence on Friday afternoons. And where entertainment is found in turning off all the lights in the lounge for a "dark party" while we throw heaps of socks into the air with Shake it Off blasting from the stereo.

I love being an au pair because it gives me a chance to be a kid again myself, and feel nothing but love for acting like the craziest, silliest, goose in the world.
