DISCOVER. Sticker Fine Motor Activity
Wednesday, 30 November 2016

This activity can help strengthen fine motor skills as well as
provide the opportunity to use text and symbols that are important
or relevant for the tamariki. Through this activity the tamariki
are being provided with an opportunity to contribute (mana
tangata) and explore (mana aoturoa).

- Paper
- Felt or pencil
- Very small stickers

1. Think about the children's interests and
abilities so you can individualise each child's page. Write letters
of the alphabet, numbers, text or symbols on a piece of paper. E.g
the letter "M" if the child's name is Molly or for an advanced
option you could write the whole child's name. You could use this
learning time to talk with the child about words that start with
"m" or the sound "m" makes.
2. Have a piece of paper so you can demonstrate
on it or leave the piece of paper at the activity so the child
knows what to do.
3. 3.Peel off the small stickers and place them
along the lines you have drawn. Once the lines have had stickers
placed along them the text or symbol is complete. You can add on
more text/symbols to their page if you want to.

Maori Dictionary At Au Pair Link we love to
celebrate New Zealand's Maori culture. Those beautiful words seen
above are explained here: Keteparaha
