France is the world’s first tourist destination and one of the most popular places to visit in the world. France is world-renowned for its food, cheese, wine and culture and if you take the opportunity to live here you will experience this stunning country.

Once in France you will discover the romantic city of Paris and its famous monuments such as the Eiffel Tower, the 900 year-old cathedral of Notre Dame, the magic of the Latin Quarter cafés and one of the most popular museums in the world; the Louvre. Make sure that you visit the French country-side! Enjoy relaxing on the French Riviera or visit Cannes for the international film festival. Visit the south-west and get to know French culture with its special food (cassoulet) and their love of rugby. In Brittany, listen to local traditional music; enjoy amazing landscapes and megalithic monuments.

Up North, you will discover the kindness of the Chti’s, their food and also the long beaches of the Northern France. In the East you will discover a culture between France and Germany, full of history. During your year in France you can travel throughout Europe and really explore this amazing continent.

Au Pair Programmes
  • Au Pair: 30 hours-work + 2 or 3 night-baby-sitting and you will earn 75€ per week
  • Au Pair Plus: 35 hours-work per week + 2 or 3 night-babysitting and you will earn 100€ per week
What are the requirements? You need:
  • to be between 18 and 27 years old
  • documented childcare experience
  • to be available at least 6 months and preferably for the school year
  • to speak minimum French
  • to undertake French classes
  • to be a non-smoker

Please note that French classes are compulsory to obtain the French Au Pair Visa.

How much will it cost?

Au Pair Link charges a $99 non-refundable registration fee to prepare your paper work.

You will have to pay for the flights, the visa and the insurance, this can vary from $2000.00 - $4000.00

You will get In return you will get:
  • Full board and food
  • A minimum of 75 euros/week (NZ$ 170)
  • One day off /week
  • One weekend off minimum /month
  • One week paid holiday every 6 months
  • Medical insurance - civil liability
  • Free time to study French and visit Paris
  • An au pair certificate when you have completed your stay
