Ongoing Support
One of the main reasons why it is important use a professional Au Pair agency, rather than using websites to become an Au Pair privately, is to ensure that you have support and help when you arrive in your host country. Obviously, your safety is most important, and for that reason we recommend that you never use Internet based matching agencies. You must ensure that a family has been properly checked and screened before accepting a placement with them – and the only way to do that properly is via a local and reputable Au Pair agency.
With Au Pair Link, throughout your year in New Zealand we will provide you and your Host Family with ongoing support, activities and advice. If you have any questions or concerns – our local office and nationwide support staff are just a phone call away.
As part of our Au Pair 123 programme, one of our registered and qualified teachers will visit you each month to ensure that you have the support and help that you require as an Au Pair and caregiver to children less than 5 years of age. You will also be given the opportunity to attend professional development sessions to help enhance your child care skills.
We also organise fun monthly activities and meetings for all the Au Pairs in your local area (such as going to the beach, a local café or restaurant and visiting local attractions). You can share your experiences with other Au Pairs in New Zealand and make lifelong friends in the process!
Lastly, we provide a re-match service free of charge. So if things don’t work out, you will be placed in accommodation until we find a new Host Family for you here in New Zealand. This is all part of the Au Pair Link difference and our commitment to you. We make sure that your year as an Au Pair will be a success.
