How to Apply
STEP 1. The first step is to apply online and complete our short Family Initial Application Form. It's free to apply!
STEP 2. Once you have submitted our Family Initial Application Form, you will receive a confirmation email from the team at Au Pair Link and a link to our Full Application Form. Click on the hyperlink in this email and complete our Full Family Application form. Please allow 10-15 minutes to complete this full application form online.
STEP 3. Au Pair Link will contact you to arrange a personal interview with your family and conduct a quick health and safety check of your home.
STEP 4. To enable us to fast-track your application (prior to your family interview), please provide us with a single electronic ‘Host Family Summary’ document incorporating:

A letter about your family

Photos of your family including your children, home and the Au Pair’s living space (room). Only 5-10 photos in total are required to be inserted into the document e.g. Microsoft Word.
If possible please compress your photos embedded in the document or use low resolution photos to help reduce document size. Once you have completed these steps please email your Host Family Summary document to family@aupairlink.co.nz . This ‘Host Family Summary’ document will only be presented to Au Pair candidates who you select.
STEP 5. You will then be required to personally interview potential Au Pair candidates. It is important that you personally speak with Au Pair candidates that you are interested in – so you can make a fully informed decision when you make an "Offer of Placement". Speaking with Au Pair candidates will also give you a better appreciation of their English language ability and personality. Please see our matching process for further information.
Note: Please keep in mind that it can take between 3 to 4 weeks before you get matched. The time taken for a match depends on the number of Au Pairs looking for a Host Family, the time of year etc.
STEP 6. You will make an ‘Offer of Placement’ to your preferred Au Pair candidate. If the Au Pair accepts your Offer of Placement then a match or placement is made. At this point Au Pair Link will invoice you our relevant Enrolment Fee and you are required to complete a Child Enrolment Form for each child under 5 years of age in your family (for our Au Pair 123, Au Pair Assist, Au Pair Whiz and Au Pair Private Support programmes).
STEP 7. Congratulations on matching with your Au Pair! Au Pair Link will then begin to arrange your Au Pair’s flights, visa and insurance. Your Au Pair will arrive in New Zealand and attend our orientation course. For orientation course dates, times and location - please contact us.
