The Experience

Au Pair and child having fun at the beachBeing a Host Family to an Au Pair is truly a rewarding experience. For many of our Host Families their Au Pair becomes part of the family – like an older brother or sister to your children. It is not uncommon for Au Pairs and their Host Families to stay in touch for years afterward.

As a Host Family you will not only have the convenience and flexibility of in-home child care, but you will also have a unique cultural experience. Choosing an Au Pair will give your children the opportunity to learn about other countries and cultures (including different languages, foods and customs).

An Au Pair is so much more than just ‘getting child care’. Being part of the family and home-based, an Au Pair is able to adapt to your family routines, giving your children confidence and stability. An Au Pair helps free up your time – allowing you to spend quality time with your children rather than washing sheets and sorting out clothes.

Many of our Host Families tell us about the freedom and the “extra pair of hands” they get from having an Au Pair. For example, if one of your children becomes sick your Au Pair can stay at home and look after them. Also if you need a night off, or are going out to dinner and the movies, your Au Pair can babysit for you at a moments notice.

As a part of the family it is not unusual for Au Pairs to join their family on holidays or outings. This means that you can really relax on holiday without always having to mind the kids. An Au Pair is simply about convenience and enriching your life and the lives of your children. Many Host Families tell us that now they have an Au Pair they are not sure how they coped previously without one! Please see our family testimonials for more information on the experience of having an Au Pair.
