Au Pair Wages and Hours
Au Pair 123 Programme
The Au Pair 123 wage, paid by the family to their Au Pair, is $180 per week for a maximum of 30 hours work per week (excluding PAYE tax) up to a maximum of $220 per week for a maximum of 45 hours work per week (excluding PAYE tax).
In addition, the Host Family will provide their Au Pair with board and lodging – consisting of a private and separate bedroom. The Host Family will also pay their Au Pair a $1,040.00 Completion Bonus upon the completion of the full 12 month placement term (prorated for shorter placement terms). The Completion Bonus is paid in recognition of a successful placement term and as a contribution toward the return flight home of your Au Pair.
An Au Pair is not to work more than 45 hours per week or a maximum of 10 hours per day. Host Families must also provide their Au Pair with at least two consecutive days off per week and one weekend off per month. As an employee, an Au Pair is also entitled to annual holidays and public holidays as set out in the Holidays Act.
Au Pair Mate Programme
The Au Pair Mate wage, paid by the family to their Au Pair, is $120 per week for a maximum of 20 hours work per week (excluding tax) up to a maximum of $200 per week for a maximum of 45 hours work per week (excluding tax). Typically, Au Pairs in our Au Pair Mate programme work between 20-30 hours per week throughout the school term. However, during the school holidays the hours worked are likely to increase.
In addition, the Host Family will provide their Au Pair with board and lodging – consisting of a private and separate bedroom. The Host Family will also pay their Au Pair a $1,040.00 Completion Bonus upon the completion of the full 12 month placement term (prorated for shorter placement terms).
