Au Pair Mate Programme
Our Au Pair Mate programme is an after school care programme designed for Host Families with children older than 5 years of age. An Au Pair Mate is more like an older sister or brother and they will often share similar interests with your family. Whether it is playing soccer, riding horses, teaching piano or even another language – we can find the perfect Au Pair Mate for your family.
Our Au Pair Mate participants are not required to work within the Early Childhood Education curriculum framework and therefore are paid a reduced wage. Au Pairs Mate’s are able to study English in a full-time or part-time capacity (not more than 20 hours per week). An Au Pair Mate will work up to 45 hours per week maximum, sometimes in a sole charge position, for up to $200 net pay per week (excluding PAYE tax). The Placement Term is for a maximum of 12 months and a minimum of 6 months.
The Au Pair Mate programme is available nationwide. If your youngest child is under 5 years of age you cannot enrol in the Au Pair Mate programme (unless you reside outside of an Au Pair Link Ministry of Education licensed region) – please refer to our Au Pair 123 programme instead.
Please download a copy of our Au Pair Mate programme benefits - this document outlines information on the services we provide as part of the Au Pair Mate programme and the relevant benefits for you and your children. Au Pairs in the Mate programme must meet the following minimum requirements:
