Our Programmes
At Au Pair Link we understand the unique child care needs of families. Whether you have infant or school age children, require full or part time care, work 8am to 5pm or shift hours – we have a tailored childcare programme that will meet your family’s needs. We offer two distinct and flexible programmes:
Au Pair 123 is quality and educational programme, approved by the Ministry of Education, for children between the ages of 0 to 5. You will get access to a qualified early childhood teacher and developmental curriculum, playgroups, monthly activities and the ‘20 Hours ECE’ subsidy (for 3, 4 & 5 year olds). The Au Pair 123 programme includes the following benefits:
- Support for your family and Au Pair through a local, qualified Early Childhood Education (ECE) teacher.
- Access to a quality ECE curriculum and tailored child portfolios - that record the developmental milestones of each individual child.
- Weekly local playgroups run by our qualified teachers and designed to stimulate social interaction.
- Localised monthly activities for children and Au Pairs.
- Professional development and training opportunities for Au Pairs - learning about childcare, child nutrition and active movement etc.
- Resource kits for children tailored to their specific interests e.g. dinosaurs, insects, art, music, the sea etc.
- Access to our music, book and toy libraries.
- 20 Hours ECE and WINZ government subsidies are available.
- Also includes Au Pair Mate programme benefits such as a personal family interview, full Au Pair screening, Au Pair Orientation course, monthly newsletters, welcome pack, professional contracts etc.
Our Au Pair Mate programme is designed for families with children over the age of 5. Typical Au Pair mate duties include; babysitting, dropping off and picking up from school, homework help, afterschool activities and so much more. The Au Pair Mate programme includes the following benefits:
- Lower Au Pair weekly wage - $150 per week (excluding PAYE tax) for 30 hours.
- Personal family interview by one of our local representatives to assess your family requirements.
- Screening process - an examination of the Au Pair including an English test, personality test and reference checks. Medical and police records are also attained. Every Au Pair is interviewed personally by our approved and trusted partners.
- Orientation programme - 3 day training course including childcare training, tailored child first aid and CPR course conducted by St John, driving lessons.
- Monthly newsletters including Au Pair of the month reward programme.
- Welcome pack – that includes helpful information, ideas for the first few weeks when settling in and all relevant contact details.
- Contracts – written contracts for you and the Au Pair outlining the nature of their employment with you (hours to be worked etc).
- Access to Au Pair Team Leader support network including monthly activities and events for your Au Pair.
- Organisation of your Au Pair’s flights to New Zealand, their visa, insurance etc.
All our programmes are for a minimum period of 6 months and a maximum period of 12 months. We also provide an orientation programme for all Au Pairs upon their arrival in New Zealand (both Au Pair 123 and Au Pair Mate programmes). Our orientation programme is a 3 day training course for your Au Pair. As well as aiding them to acclimatise after lengthy international travel, the course includes childcare training by a qualified ECE teacher, driving lessons and a tailored child first aid and CPR course conducted by St John.
