We first heard about Aupair Link on the Breakfast show on TV1. The service instantly appealed to us as it was extremely cost effective and our children were being looked after by one person in our own home, preschools just did not appeal to us. As a first time mother of twins I was really struggling with the change of life and the workload, not to mention post natal depression. I really needed an extra pair of hands to help me with the babies and so I could begin to get my life back and feel sane again! Our au pair Ida is from Sweden, our children love her to bits and Ida loves them, they are learning a great deal as Ida has the one on one time to put into them and she is very well supported with monthly visits from our area coordinator Cushla. Cushla ensures they are learning what they should be and reaching all the milestones. One of the real plus factors for Woody and I is that we have got valuable couple time back. With Ida living in, it means we can pop out for coffee, dinner or the movies at short notice, without having to organise a baby sitter to come in. Ida also comes on holiday with us at Christmas to allow Woody and I to have a break. $200 for 40 hours work per week is an amazing deal and it has given us access to many other services such as the weekly au pair playgroup - this is a great time for our children and Ida to catch up with the other children in the Christchurch area who are also being looked after by au pairs. I would thoroughly recommend the service.
