Dear Bridget, Ben, Jemima and Tommy,
I can't believe that my time with you in New Zealand is nearly
over, the time has flown by. But anyway.. I will definitely come
back, and maybe even start living here. It would be great to catch
up with you and the kids as often as possible!
After we first met in the café on Ayr Street, I instantly felt
like you are the right family to spend my year with. Jemima was
very entertaining by making a big mess with her breakfast, and
Tommy was a little bit shy first -very cute. You were so open and
kept on talking and talking, especially you Bridget ;). I really
liked the little bit of craziness, and I knew it would never get
boring with you and your amazing, crazy kids.
Before you even knew me that well, you invited me over for
Christmas with the whole family. Thank you so much, otherwise I
wouldn't have known where to spend Christmas. That was such a nice
welcome, and I really felt at home with your family from the
beginning. It was so easy to settle in with you guys, because your
whole family welcomed me with open arms. Maybe I don't show my
gratitude sometimes. I am pretty German in that, but I really liked
you from the beginning and knew instantly that you were the right
family for me. It was worth it to have so much stress with my
rematch and be patient and waiting.
I don't know how I can pay you back what you've done for me. You
both always stood behind me, even when I had so much bad luck with
my car and other stupid things. You were always there and believed
in me. I don't take that for granted, and really appreciate it. I
hope you will get Family of the Month, because you are not only the
best family of the month, but the best host family of all!
You've got so much trust in me for looking after your children,
that makes me feel really honoured. Your kids are super special to
me, and they sometimes feel like my own children.
Bridget, I know it's hard for you as a working mother, and you
sometimes feel guilty about not spending every second with your
kids - but you both are brilliant parents. You give your kids loads
of love, and support them in every step they take. They're growing
up in such a loving, caring environment, with an amazing family who
supports each other in good and hard times. That is really
special!
Thank you so much for all your support. It was not always easy,
and sometimes I felt I caused you more trouble than help.
Especially thank you Bridget, I can talk to you about
everything… it doesn't matter what topic! You are really open with
me, and it just feels like talking to a good friend.
I will miss you so much, and I am can't wait until your visit in
Sydney.
