The Alderson family (Wellington) - June 2016
A family that buys you
Nutella is the best kind of family!
Dear Alderson-Team,
The description to the au pair job said: Taking care of
children, cooking and cleaning. But what I've got was so much
better.
Lily, Adele and Georgia, you girls give the day so much more
detail and love. The best thing about you girls is your craziness,
love and excitement, especially about farts and burps. I love it!
You girls have given so much love which made my time with your
family even more special. I love you guys very much. Lily I
remember how you as the oldest showed me around the house and Adele
you introduced me into the wonderful world of fairies and unicorns
whereas Georgia, you called me 'mum' in the first few weeks which
all of us found hilarious. We have made so many memories which I
will forever keep in my heart.
You guys are the most well-mannered girls that I know and your
parents can be very proud of you.
Speaking of - My lovely 'host parents' Rachel and James, where
can I start to thank you guys of how kind-heartedly you welcomed me
into your home. Thank you for the trust you gave me with your
wonderful children and beautiful household.
I was really nervous before I started after my rematch but you
guys made me think it was worth waiting for the right match. I am
very blessed to be part of your family as I experienced an awesome
kiwi Christmas.
You took me to my first rugby game and the cherry on top was my
birthday, where you threw me a surprise New Zealand- themed party
and a helicopter ride as a present! I couldn't believe my luck to
have such a wonderful host family who gives so much! I hope you
realise that you are the sort of humans people need in their life
and I am happy to have and know you. You raise your kids with
respect and kindness and I admire that. Rachel and James, you are
hardworking people who deserve all the good things in life and so
much more.
I can't believe my journey in New Zealand is nearly over but
while it lasted I was the luckiest girl to be matched with you
guys.
You involved me in so many things as a family which made me so
happy to have found you guys. I will forever keep the memories with
me, all of the cuddles with my girls, the banter but also what I
learned from my dearest host parents. As people always say: 'It's
not a good bye, it's a see you later!' I am looking forward to the
many more memories we will make in life.
As I can't win the lotto for you I hope that making you the Host
Family of the Month can show you how much I love and appreciate the
five of you!
Much love.
Vicky - your weird German!
