Jessica Schichtel (Germany) - March 2017

We would like to nominate Jessi for au pair of the month. She has lived with us since July and we now can't imagine life without her!  When Jessi arrived we lived in Royal Oak but have since moved out to Karaka.  Jessi was instrumental in the move, helping to pack and get settled in our new environment, which was very different from what we were use to.

When Tamsyn started school (a week after we moved) Jessi made an amazing Schultute, a German tradition where school starters are given gifts to signal the start of school.  Jessi also made one for Caitlyn and both girls just loved them.  Jessi brought all of the materials over from Germany (weighing about 5 kgs) and made them secretly when she arrived!  The girls just loved their gifts and will treasure them always.

Jessi is an important part of our family and the girls love her a lot.  When Jessi picks Caitlyn up from pre-school she protectively says 'My Jessi' as she runs up to give her a cuddle.  They are great buddies and have such a close relationship that we are just so happy to see.

Jessi is great with Tamsyn and patiently helps her with homework and is always happy to play 'baby' with both girls, which they love.

We will be sad when Jessi leaves but will know that she'll be back with her family to visit, so we look forward to having them all to stay.

 Minchin family.
