Rebecca Beyer (Germany)

Becky started with us at the end of July and from the very first day she has had a fabulous relationship with our one year old son Thomas. He is a very busy little man who loves the outdoors. We live on a dairy farm in a remote area and Becky is from a city in Germany so she has had to adapt to a very different style of life. Becky has a very positive outlook on life and is certainly making the most of her experience here.

She brings Thomas out on the farm most days and gets involved in everything we do like feeding the calves and milking the cows. She even assisted me to calve a cow which is a dirty job and certainly not for the faint hearted. She has reared three orphan lambs and Tommy loves to help with feeding them. Last week she spent half a morning with the neighbours in the shearing shed learning how to press wool and even tried her hand at shearing a sheep.

While Thomas had his nana staying she allowed them to spend time together and cleaned the windows inside and out. She cooks and cleans and even does the grocery shopping but most importantly she spends time with Tommy and helps him to learn and be included in our farming lifestyle.

We are very proud to have Becky as our au pair and the hardest part will be saying goodbye to her at the end of January.

Kind regards,

The Vanderpoel family
