Sarah Schraufstetter (Germany)

I would like to nominate our Au Pair - Sarah as Au Pair of the month. Sarah has been with us for 9 months now and she has truly made a big difference to our lives. She does a wonderful job looking after Lily - our 2 yr old and Sebastian - our 11yr old. Sarah has developed such a great relationship with Lily and calls Sarah - "Her Nanny". Sarah is always ready to help out and nothing is too much trouble. She really is part of our family.

She helps out with the cooking and has made some very yummy cookies and cakes for us.  Sarah has taken Lily on lots of outings and does things at home with the children like baking and painting which they really enjoy. She has also been taking Lily to gymnastics classes - which is something as working parents - we just couldnʼt fit it on the weekend. Sarah has also been a great help while we potty train Lily - she has lots patience and has been committed to making progress.

Our lives are definitely much less stressful now that we have Sarah to help us out. At christmas time - Sarah really went above and beyond, by making both the children advent calendars - these were individually wrapped little presents which we hung on the wall in the shape of a star and a christmas tree. She also made 1 for us - so she wrapped 75 little presents! Sarah also makes a wonderful photo collage every month - which we hang up in the lounge. These will also make great memories for Lily when she is older.

Sarah has also written some amazing learning stories - which really shows me she is taking a genuine interest in Lilyʼs development - and not just babysitting her. Sarah really has exceeded our expectations of an Au Pair - she has been so easy to live with and has done a great job. We will miss her when she returns to Germany. Our next au pair - will have big shoes to fill!
