Ulrikke Wilken Kjaer (Denmark) - May 2017

Ulrikke deserves to be the Au Pair of the month because she is totally amazing! She is our 3rd Au Pair and she looks after 3 very boisterous boys, Noah 5, Oliver 3 and Hunter 18 months. 

 As soon as Ulrikke arrived in our family she started to help out. She had not even begun working yet when she helped out with dinner and dishes. For Ulrikke it comes naturally to be a part of a family who keeps the house neat and tidy. I rarely give her any instructions as to what household duties need attention. She can see if something needs doing and works out how to do it for herself. 

 And the kids love her too! During the holidays she was taking them to a new playground every day. She would ask me for ideas to new places she could go the night before or she would come to me with suggestions she had found on Google maps. Ulrikke has also done some baking with the boys and had them outside riding their motorbikes. 

Even though she has not yet been in NZ for a whole month she has seen glow worms on a hillside while wading in a creek, she has seen the sunrise at the East Cape, fed stingrays and kingfish and experienced the atmosphere in Rotorua and in Raglan. She has been to Hamilton Gardens and she is planning a trip around the South Island in July.

 Ulrikke has achieved all this in only 3 weeks by being outgoing, communicative and by giving everything a go. It is a huge help to have such an awesome and super independent Au Pair who has slotted in to our family totally effortlessly. She is truly a star!
