Nine to Noon interview Cecilia Robinson and our host mother Belinda Ware about the increase in demand for Au Pairs

Friday, 24 July 2009

On the 24th of July Cecilia Robinson and Au Pair Link's host mother Belinda Ware were interviewed by Kathryn Ryan on the Nine to Noon show.

Kathryn asked all the hard questions such as "Are Au Pair's really on par with nannies", "Are families nervous about getting a young gorgeous girl and the husband running away" and "How can overseas caregivers give equally good care as New Zealand nannies"? Well Belinda agreed with Cecilia that Au Pair's are definitely on par with nannies and while Belinda said that she did consider the "beautiful young girl" aspect, as soon as she got to know her Au Pair Emma (while she was still overseas) she became part of their family.

Cecilia highlighted that an Au Pair in many instances becomes part of the family and is considered as a little sister or eldest child in the family. While an Au Pair is considered a more informal type of childcare, Cecilia also added that Au Pairs certainly are on par with NZ Nannies both when it comes to education and care.
