Au Pair of the Year Award 2015

Wednesday, 6 May 2015

New Zealand's second Au Pair of the Year award has been announced to recognise the contribution that many young travellers are making to the lives of Kiwi families, as well as increase awareness amongst parents au pair childcare and education, a concept still relatively fresh to New Zealand.

In association with Kidspot, Au Pair Link (New Zealand's leading and largest au pair agency) is proud to continue its sponsorship of the award.  Au Pair Link General Manager, Casey Muraahi, says the awards are a great way to spread the word and promote the sense of gratitude that host families feel towards their au pairs.

"We hear stories every day that quite often have our team reaching for the tissues, simply because you can really sense the heartfelt love and appreciation that families have for their au pairs, because of the way they interact with their little ones.  It's really what makes running an au pair agency worthwhile!"

In 2012, the winner of the New Zealand Au Pair of the Year Award, Femke Meyer, who matched with a Christchurch family through Au Pair Link, went on to win the International Au Pair Association's grand prize, presented at their annual conference in Rome.

The winner of this year's award will win domestic return airfares to Queenstown and 3 nights' accommodation.  In addition, the author of the winning nomination will win a free au pair placement with Au Pair Link (or a cash prize).  The competition is open to anyone in New Zealand who'd like to nominate, whether they have matched with an au pair through an agency other than Au Pair Link, or privately.

Nominations will be accepted through Kidspot's competitions page from 9:00am, Monday 11th May - Sunday 28th June.
