Hola Macarona,
15 months ago, I decided to apply to become an au pair in New
Zealand, 12 months ago I matched with the Lloyd family in Auckland
and three weeks after that I was here and started my adventure and
oh gosh what an adventure it has been! It has been ups and downs,
lots of delicious food and drinks, lots of beautiful scenery and
making life lasting friendships, but most important of all, I've
extended my family. Or, the right thing to write is probably that
the Lloyds took me in with open arms and made me a part of their
wonderful family. The things I have learned about family life with
you guys are amazing and I'm forever grateful that you made this
year one of the best of my life.
Macky, my little ratbag and future husband (yes, he has already
decided), I love you to the moon and back ten thousand times. You
are a cheeky little monkey, so caring about others and you have the
biggest heart! I didn't think it could be so fun hanging out with
you every day, but honestly, we always laugh so much together and
your cheeky comments and nicknames are the best! You are sitting
next to me right now and you just told me you love me (your Swedish
girl) so, so, so much and I'm melting.
Raffy, my little squish squash, it has been truly amazing seeing
you grow from that super happy seven-months-old Micheline baby to
this crazy, cheeky one-and-a-half-year-old little girl running
around everywhere with the biggest smile on your face. The way you
crack me up every day is insane, it's never a dull moment with you
and I just love seeing you dance and hearing you start talking.
Your laughter is music to my ears and I love you more than words
can describe.
Katy, the glue of the family and the mother I would like to be to
my kids, you are amazing. Right from the beginning you have always
been so kind and open towards me and always making sure I'm having
a good time. You are a friend for life and I can't wait for us to
meet up in Italy (India?) and all the different places in the
future!
Rich, a greater dad would be hard to find and your love to your
family shows in everything you do. It's always easy to laugh with
you, but to be honest, your dad-jokes sucks. When you come home,
everyone lights up and its crazy time for a while which is so fun.
You've been someone I always can talk to, your advices are always
good and I can count on having good discussions with you, old
man!
Last, but not least, I need to mention Texas and Tootsie, the
wonderful dog and cat! The unconditionally 50kg love Texas have
given me from the beginning is amazing and I must admit Tootsie
made me realise it's possible to like cats.
Thank you, La Familia, for this year and all the years to come.
I will miss you and all our evenings together insanely and its
thanks to you this has been so amazing. I wish everyone could have
a family like yours and I've learned so much.
Love from your Tikitik, Swedish Girl, Fisher Woman and
Chestnut.
