Why is my host family the best?
My mom kept asking me this question as I was constantly telling
her of how great they were. I couldn't believe it myself. How did I
get this lucky?
After re-matching I thought how can I find a family that will
suit me? And you know how when you are sad that's when the best
things can happen. Team Legg happened. And I couldn't be happier. I
have found myself looking at the date and thinking how did 7 weeks
go by so fast?
I could give Jo and Mike about a million compliments, and they
would all fit them. But I'll give you two reasons as to why they
are the best host parents I could ever wish for.
1. When I'm a bit homesick and feeling down, they make it their
mission to get me in a better mood and have fun. And with two young
boys (2 years and 3 months) we don't get to go out and do crazy
stuff, which is totally fine with me because our every day is just
amazing. We always manage to have so much fun, and I have even
caught Jo and I wetting our pants in laughter.
2. The good times. Every day is amazing. Over 7 weeks have past
and not once have I had a bad day! I might have a second of feeling
homesick, but that passes in a second because I have such great
host parents.
Jo gives me the biggest amount of support that I could ask for,
and I'm so grateful to her. It's like we're best friends and I just
love it!
How I managed to find a family with the same humor as me, the
same spirit about sports and the same spirit about life is a
mystery to me, but I am SO HAPPY that I did.
Christmas time is always hard when you aren't with your loved
ones, but Jo made me feel a wee bit like home, when she went out
and got 4 advent candles, just to make me happy. I can't tell you
enough, she does small things like that all the time, and it just
feels amazing!
Even though they might not win this, I still wanna say that they
have already won the race in my eyes. Team Legg is an amazing,
caring, loving and fun family!
Thank you team Legg ❤
